Quick Radiation Source Detection, Localization, and Characterization (QkRad™)

GTC Analytics delivered a capstone live demonstration of QkRad™ to Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) leadership, validating the system’s readiness for real-world operations. Multiple simulated radiation detectors were unified into a single operational picture, enabling rapid standoff localization of multiple threat scenarios visualized live through TAK, including enhanced ATAK visualization co-developed with Draper Laboratories.

The hands-on demonstration reinforced QkRad™’s ease of use and operational maturity, with a DTRA Program Officer successfully localizing simulated sources with minimal training. Now officially live, QkRad™ delivers rapid radiation source detection for first responders using equipment they already carry—reducing operator burden, lowering risk, and accelerating decision-making when it matters most.

NASA Facilities Digital Twin (FDT)
GTC Analytics successfully delivered a pilot implementation of the NASA FDT at Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC), providing near–real-time insight into facility availability, condition, maintenance status, and capabilities. Built using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Unified Architecture Framework concepts, the platform links enterprise architecture models to centralized data and intuitive dashboards, enabling stakeholders to access actionable information without MBSE expertise.
Building on the GSFC pilot, GTC is expanding the FDT with Langley Research Center and engaging additional NASA centers. By providing enterprise-wide visibility and traceability, the FDT helps NASA leadership prioritize limited resources, reduce mission risk, and address a deferred maintenance backlog that has grown from $2.1B to approximately $4B since 2021.

Technology Update
U.S. Space Force Space Domain Awareness Tools, Applications, & Processing Lab (SDA TAP) Lab
GTC Analytics continues to support the U.S. Space ForceSDA TAP Lab, delivering capabilities that turn complex sensing data into operationally relevant insight. As a Hostility Monitoring Subsystem lead and a key service provider, GTC enables persistent monitoring that integrates cleanly into the broader SDA architecture.
This work includes GTC’s SIREN service, which uses seismic and infrasound signals for resilient space vehicle launch detection, as well as a newly deployed launch fusion service that combines prediction, detection, and external data into optimized launch nominals. Together, these capabilities reduce ambiguity, improve confidence, and accelerate analysis for high-consequence space domain decisions.
