The U.S. Department of Energy tracks nuclear energy prognostics and, to increase their results, utilizes GTC Analytics state-of-the-art software solution and framework, Cask Analysis and Degradation Evaluation System (CaskADES), to help assess nuclear waste container/cask material degradation status for interim storage and potential transportation.

How It Works

CaskADES fuses various data sources and probabilistic inference to conduct data analysis that ensures the structural integrity of nuclear waste containers or casks. This is accomplished by predicting the state of health of canisters as well as early indications of degradation. The system provides status indicators/features using combined physics-based and data-driven approaches from a structural and material point of view.
