The U.S. Air Force, in collaboration with Applied Research Associates, leveraged GTC Analytics’ AI/Machine Learning capabilities for seismic analysis to accurately determine the timing of seismic phase arrivals caused by seismic waves.

How It Works

While GTC Analytics’ AI/ML for seismic analysis uses an approach based on analyst picks, where analysts identify the onset time from the seismic data, it does not require the analyst picks to be highly accurate. The algorithm can out-pick or outperform the trained analysts with a high confidence rate using a probability spread in its training methods.
